A fragile climbing wall, broken-ish gym, at-your-own-risk playground, a site continues to be reimagined- a soft bar, hard mats, invisible bodies, holds(some are more trustworthy than others), broken weights, scaffold tubes, and everything in between. Space, material, and shapes. Movements. Multi-dimensional. Maze. Problems. Navigation. Mapping. Things we know and things we don’t know. Problem-solving. How do we approach problems?
Colours. Distance between objects and audiences. Images. What’s been captured and what’s escaped? Escapism. Space interrupted. How do we move between here and there? Strength. Dichotomies. Binaries. I struggle with them. Soft powers. Tarkovsky‘s Stalker: “Flexibility and softness are the embodiment of life.” Productivity. Freedom. Constrains. Gravity. Deconstruction. Queerness… etc.
Installation includes: MDF walls, silicone, scaffolding bars and joints, natural-dyed rope, carabiners, 3D-printed ceramics, hand-built ceramics, resin, porcelain, jesmonite, climbing rope, chalk, found climbing holds, found fan, and a radio playing BBC.
